July 19th, 2025, MEETING MINUTES

Meeting Called to Order At 0900 Hours

Number of Residents in attendance: Twenty-two (22) residents were in attendance.

Officers in attendance: Tim Ziethen, President; Ann Carlton, Vice President; Kathy Hopkins, Secretary, Suzanne Cordus; interim bookkeeper

Directors in attendance: Les Carlton

Absent: Jan Heald, Hugh McGettigan, Bradley Mozeik

Approval of June 21st, 2025, HPCA Meeting Minutes: Jim Robie made a motion to approve May 17th, 2025, minutes, Les Carlton seconded. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:

We have 104 members to date, with more member dues expected. Suzanne reviewed the income and expenditures for June 22nd to July 19th. Jim Robie made a motion to approve the treasures report, Bill Alberts seconded, motion was carried.

Website Update: … www.hackspoint.org ......

· All voted approved minutes have been posted.

· Bacteria Testing is now on the site and updated weekly.

· Games on the green pictures posted to the home page.

Sub Committee reports:

· Social Committee Update: discussed income from yard sales, net profit so far is $1265.75 dollars with more online sales to come.

· Pancake Breakfast: 60 attendees Net profit was ($831) Eight Hundred and Thirty-one dollars.

· July 5th – Games on the green (Mary Lou Ambro), basket raffle and 50 50 (Social Committee) total net profit was ($1472) One thousand four hundred and seventy-two. $ 72.00 was kept by the social committee for future events. Big thanks to all our incredible volunteers.

· (Ice cream social).

· Ice Cream Social will take place on Saturday August 16th from 6pm to 8pm. Rock painting will also be available.

· September 13th a resin art craft night by Renee Russo is scheduled. The proposed cost is ($25) twenty-five dollars a person.

Garden Committee Update: no one in attendance. Thank you to Vickie Galbraith and her creative ability in sprucing up the community entrance garden area.

Board Walk Committee Update: Boardwalk replacement completed. Half the boardwalk boards were treated by Doug Heald. Need volunteers to apply water resistant stain.

Caps for pilings on Boardwalk (6 to 8, various diameters) ($15) fifteen dollars each.

Discussion about disturbances that took place on July 4th on the beach and the swim platform. possible alcohol involvement. The sheriff was contacted. A suggestion was made that during celebration weekends we have an off duty officer available.

Current Ongoing Business:

Community Parkland Maintenance

· The Highway Department will be trimming around the Stop Signs.

· Farmdale sink hole Update: GEO Tech Co. to do ground penetrating radar from Farmdale to the pier steps. Report will identify any pipes, and disturbed soil that could cause the sink hole

· Benches for the board walk have been sanded, need painting.

· Pavement washout by parking (near beach) from recent hard rains needs patch/repair.

· Tree removal quotes were received, and a low bid was identified.

· Hot Water tank replaced in the community center.

· Water testing results summary week 9, passed. Testing is one and done for the week and is a score card for the health of the river.

· Signage needs replacing for Parkland (faded) and Cation sign for bank, no dumping signs need installation.

· Discussion took place on little beach drainage improvement and new fence needed.
